It is 9 a.m. in New York, 2 p.m. in London and 10 here in Seoul.
Hello and welcome to our viewers all across the globe.
This is Arirang Newscenter.
Title: 5.1 Earthquake in Gyeongju, followed by 5.8 aftershock
We begin tonight with breaking news.
Earthquakes with magnitudes of 5-point-1 and 5-point-8 on the richter scale jolted Korea's southeastern region.
Mind you, Korea is not too prone to earthquakes... this is the strongest quake to rattle the nation's inland since the country started collecting data in 1978.
Our very own Hwang Ho-jun is on the ground in Gyeongju... the epicenter of the quake... he 's live on the phone with us.
Hojun, the quakes tonight --- we could even feel the tremor 350 kilometers away here in Seoul. What can you tell us?
Connyoung. We have so far felt two tremors here in Gyeongju. The initial 5-point-1 earthquake was detected at 7:44 p.m., to be followed by a very strong aftershock measuring 5-point-8 on the richter scale about 50 minutes later... at 8:32 p.m Korea time.
The second one was big enough to be felt all across South Korea.
Tables and chairs fell over as buildings shook quite a lot... the residents here, including our crew and myself, ran out to the streets for open air.
The Korea Meteorological Administration announced that the epicenter was near Naenam-myeon region here in Gyeongju. Take a listen.
. 5.8 … . 20 32 54 5.8 . 8km .
2 . . 20 33 20 , .
Although none serious, reports of light injuries and damages are beginning to surface... the Korea Meterological Administration just announced two injuries due to tonight's quakes. Officials are still in the process of assessing more damages.
We certainly hope there aren't any casulaties... but Hojun, another concern: a few nuclear power plants are located in the region. Are they reports from that front?
Connyoung, Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power, which operates the country's nuclear power plants said none of its reactors -- those are the Wolsong, Hanul and Gori nuclear power plants were affected and continues to produce electricity.
And, this just coming in - the Ulsan 4 Combined Cycle Power Plant has stopped running.
A few KTX bullet trains halted operations and Korea's most popular mobile messenger Kakao Talk went offline shortly after the quake.
Authorities are warning those in the vicinity of the earthquake to remain alert and cautious as there may be more aftershocks overnight.
Connyoung.
And, we will keep our viewers posted on any earthquake-related news all throughout the night. Our Hwang Hojun live from Gyeongju -- the epicenter of the powerful quakes tonight. Thanks, Hojun.
Title: President calls for unity among political parties to counter security crisis
We'll have more updates in our later newscasts. Now, on to regular news....
President Park Geun-hye sat down with the leaders of the ruling and opposition parties for the first time since the 20th National Assembly kicked off.
The South Korean leader noted that Pyongyang has chosen its nuclear program over listening to the international community, she reiterated the need to press the regime with stronger sanctions... calling for bipartisan support from the parliament.
Arirang News' top office correspondent Song Ji-sun starts us off.
For nearly two hours, President Park and the leaders of the nation's main political parties exchanged views on current issues, with national security taking the most attention and focus.
President Park said Pyongyang has taken the path to advance its nuclear program, neglecting the international community's opposition and condemnation,... and leaving Seoul with no other option than to press the North with stronger sanctions to change its strategic calculation.
Park said a firm self-defense system must be equipped for that process,... making THAAD the more necessary.
As the missile defense system is a means of self-defense, Park stressed THAAD is not subject to the National Assembly's ratification... and nor would it violate security interests of a third country, referring to China's opposition.
Park said the North's nuclear weapons are not just for making idle threats or for negotiating purposes... as the regime has now said the warheads can be mounted on its ballistic missiles.
She also indicated that the UN Security Council is discussing a new set of sanctions -- the strongest to date -- to close the loopholes in its previous resolutions.
Pointing to the uncertainties facing the nation on the security and economic fronts, Park called for unity from the parliament.
"At a time like this, it's important that our politicians show unity to tackle outstanding challenges. I hope this meeting functions as an opportunity to ease the public's security concerns, refresh our awareness of the North Korean issue, and combine our strong determination through agreements."
"Stressing that the security situation South Korea is facing at the moment is different from the past, Park called for a firm unity beyond political parties for the nation and the people's safety... as the North's additional provocations could mean a risk of war on the Korean penisula.
Song Ji-sun, Arirang News."
Title: Pres. Office and opposition bloc fail to agree on THAAD and approaches how to solve N. Korean threat
At the National Assembly, back return their meeting with the president...
Korea's three main political parties held briefingsof their own today.
Our parliamentary correspondent Park Ji-won gives us details.
In a press briefing following Monday's security talks at the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae,... ruling Saenuri Party's leader Lee Jung-hyun reviewed positively the fact that the three main political parties all strongly denounce North Korea's fifth nuclear test.
However,... he couldn't hide the conservative party's disappointment over the three parties' failure to agree on the controversial matter of deploying the U.S. missile defense system THAAD.
"It is truly regrettable that the opposition bloc blindly disapproves THAAD,... in a situation where the North's nuclear threats are imminent right before our eyes."
The main opposition Minjoo Party of Korea said that once again, communication with the presidential office was hindered by what it felt like a impenetrable wall.
The party said the top office was close to pressuring opposition leaders to agree on the deployment of THAAD,... but the liberal party made it clear that it does not see eye to eye on the matter with the top office.
"I clearly told the president that we need to keep close economic relations with China,... to improve the people's livelihoods. I think this is a diplomatic matter,... between the U.S. and China,... and we need to let them understand what our national interests are as well as our geopolitical situation."
The minor opposition People's Party,... however,... expressed satisfaction over having had the chance to express the opposition leaders' stances to the president.
"Despite some differences in how to solve North Korea's nuclear threats and THAAD,... I think it was a good opportunity to directly listen to the President Park,... and told her our opinions. I hope we have more chances like this."
"The opposition parties also brought up a series of matters related to the livelihoods of the people,... such as job creation for the youth,... and difficulties in the nation's agricultural sectors. They also urged President Park to dismiss senior presidential secretary Woo Byung-woo,... to which President Park said she will first wait and see the results of the prosecutors' ongoing probe.
Park Ji-won, Arirang News."
Title: N. Korea always ready for additional nuclear test site: S. Korea's defense ministry
The world is still processing the implications of North Korea's fifth nuclear test,... but there's already speculation Pyongyang could conduct yet another one before the year is out.
Connie Kim has more on Seoul's preparation for the worst case scenario.
As if North Korea's fifth nuclear test, and its second this year, wasn't a big surprise to the international community,... Pyongyang appears to be ready to push the button for another test at any time.
Seoul's defense ministry confirmed that view on Monday.
"The assessment by South Korean and U.S. intelligence in regard to an additional nuclear test by North Korea is that the North is always ready to test another device in the Punggye-ri area."
The spokesman said the nuclear test could be conducted at the second tunnel or the third one, which has not yet been used.
The previous five nuclear tests have been carried out at the first and second underground tunnels.
The South Korean and the U.S. military authorities have reportedly detected signs that preparations are complete at the third tunnel.
Pyongyang's fifth nuclear test came suddenly last Friday without prior notice.
But before the detonation,... there had been reports of increased movements at the site, though there were no signs of transporting nuclear warheads or installing instrumentation.
The South Korean and the U.S. military authorities have increased surveillance of the area to respond to any sudden movements.
Connie Kim, Arirang News.
Title: Deployment of U.S. strategic bomber postponed due to weather conditions in Guam
The United States will conduct a bomber flight over South Korea tomorrow... as a show of force against North Korea after the reclusive state carried out its fifth nuclear test.
It was initially planned for today but delayed by bad weather... according to officials.
Our defense correspondent Kim Hyunbin has this report.
The United States has postponed a scheduled deployment on Monday of a strategic bomber to South Korea which was aimed at sending a strong warning to Pyongyang for its recent nuclear test.
The flight from Anderson Air Force base in Guam was cancelled due to poor weather on the island, but it's been rescheduled for Tuesday.
The U.S. did not specify the type of the aircraft, but the base is home to several B-52, B-1B and B-2 Stealth bombers.
Experts say a flyover by a long-range bomber would demonstrate the regime's vulnerability.
"Strategic bombers carry nuclear weapons, so that sends a strong message that North Korea could be targeted. On the other hand B-1B bombers can swiftly target key military facilities, so they keep Kim Jong-un and his staff on their toes. "
The South Korean military says it's on high alert for any possible provocations and added that it will sternly counter any threat from the regime.
Kim Hyun-bin, Arirang News.
Title: S. Korea-U.S. six-party talks members to discuss N. Korea's 5th nuclear test in Seoul
Washington's top nuclear envoy Sung Kim arrived in Seoul on Monday,... to discuss with his South Korean counterpart Kim Hong-kyun measures against North Korea's fifth nuclear test,... after his trip to Japan over the weekend,... with the same purpose.
Out of Tokyo meanwhile came more condemnation towards North Korea,... raising the chances that Pyongyang may soon face stronger sanctions from the international community.
Our Foreign Affairs correspondent has the latest developments.
North Korea's latest nuclear test has demonstrated once again the regime's "blatant and reckless disregard" for its obligations and commitments.
That's what Washington's top nuclear envoy said upon arrival in South Korea Monday,... as he is set to hold talks with his South Korean counterpart Kim Hong-kyun and other officials during a two-day stay.
They are first and foremost expected to discuss their response to North Korea's fifth nuclear test.
"We will be working closely with the Republic of Korea and other partners in the six-party talks and the members of the Security Council to come up with an appropriately strong response to their latest provocation."
According to a South Korean official,... the possibility of additional sanctions on Pyongyang,... on the bilateral, as well as the United Nations level, will most likely be on the agenda at official talks Tuesday between Kim Hong-kyun and Sung Kim.
Over the weekend, Sung Kim met with his Japanese counterpart Kenji Kanasugi on the same issue,... and discussed ways to put pressure on the North through a three-way framework including South Korea.
On Monday Japan renewed its condemnation on Pyongyang's fifth nuclear test as well as its recent missile tests,... which landed within Japan's Exclusive Economic Zone,... as Prime Minister Shinzo Abe spoke before senior officers of the Self-Defense Forces.
"North Korea went ahead with two nuclear tests in just nine months. This is absolutely unacceptable. Missiles landed within Japan's exclusive economic zone last month and this month consecutively. It's an unprecedented situation."
Japan is already considering additional independent sanctions on North Korea.
So is the UN Security Council,... which is expected to draft a new resolution on the regime's latest provocation.
Kwon Soa, Arirang News.
Title: Assembly Speaker Chung Sye-kyun leaves for U.S. to boost parliamentary-level cooperation
South Korea's National Assembly Speaker left on Monday for an eight-day trip to the U.S.... along with representatives of Korea's three major political parties.
They plan to meet with leaders of the U.S. Congress to strengthen cooperation between the two legislatures and exchange views on the volatile security environment on the Korean peninsula.
Our Ji Myung-kil has more.
In his first trip overseas in an official capacity,... Assembly Speaker Chung Sye-kyun left for the U.S. on Monday accompanied by the floor leaders of the three main political parties -- the ruling Saenuri Party's Chung Jin-suk, the main opposition Minjoo Party of Korea's Woo Sang-ho and the minor opposition People's Party's Park Jie-won.
During his week-long U.S. trip... Speaker Chung is expected to meet with members of the U.S. Congress to discuss countermeasures to North Korea's nuclear and missile threats and stress the importance of the Seoul-Washington alliance.
Chung will first head to Washington, D.C., where he will meet with U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
Then he will head to New York to meet with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and give a speech at The Korea Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing ties between the two countries.
Chung will wrap-up his schedule in San Francisco with a visit to Silicon Valley. The six-term lawmaker plans to deliver words of encouragement to South Korean entrepreneurs and scientists working in the tech sector.
"Speaker Chung emphasized that the U.S. trip was part of the South Korean parliament's diplomatic efforts to bring peace and stability in Northeast Asia amid North Korea's continued provocations.

Title: Samsung Electronics nominates Lee Jae-yong to board of directors
Samsung Electronics vice chairman Lee Jae-yong was named to its board of directors today.
It is seen as a move to help Samsung Electronics gain market trust, which is struggling after the recall of its newest smartphone Galaxy Note-7.
Kim Hyesung has the story.
Samsung Electronics vice chairman Lee Jae-yong was nominated on Monday to join the board of directors.
In a statement, Samsung Electronics said it believes the time is now right to nominate Lee Jae-yong, "as a member of the board to allow him to take a more active role in the company's strategic decision-making and take formal responsibility."
The company also said that the Harvard-educated Samsung vice chairman Lee Jae-yong has made important decisions for the company as the chief operating officer, especially in the last two years, after his father and chairman Lee Kun-hee had been hospitalized following a heart attack in 2014.
The announcement comes as Samsung Electronics struggles with an unprecedented global recall of its smartphones.
The world's largest smartphone maker has seen billions of dollars of its market value disappear and has recalled 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7 smartphones earlier this month over reports of its battery exploding or catching fire.
The nomination of vice chairman Lee to the board of directors is seen as a move to gain market trust to navigate Samsung Electronics through the recall crisis.
The appointment will be put to the vote at a shareholders' meeting scheduled for October 27th.
Kim Hyesung, Arirang News.
Title: Samsung's global recall weighs on Korean shares
Local shares plunged on Monday amid a slump in the local shipping industry.
Korea Exchange was quick to react,... pledging to enhance market monitoring.
Hwang Ji-hye looks into the digits. Korea's benchmark KOSPI was down over two percent,... closing at slightly above one-thousand-9-hundred-91... on Monday -- below the crucial 2-thousand mark.
Local shares were dragged down by uncertainties stemming from abroad... like a possible rate hike from the U.S. Federal Reserve... and disappointment over the ECB meeting last week... which failed to produce any new stimulus measures.
But the biggest weight on the KOSPI was Samsung Electronics.
The company's stocks dropped nearly seven percent on Monday... on the global recall of its newest smartphone, the Galaxy Note 7,... over reports of its battery exploding or catching fire.
Samsung Electronics, the world's largest smartphone and television maker, accounts for almost one-fifth of the KOPSI's overall capitalization.
Though their impact was limited, geopolitical risks... due to North Korea's fifth nuclear test,... also spooked investors.
The sharp drop prompted the Korea Exchange to hold an emergency meeting,... where officials discussed measures to tackle the drastic shift downward.
They pledged to strengthen market monitoring... to prevent any speculative movements.
Hwang Ji-hye, Arirang News.
Title: Korea's finance minister calls for close monitoring of financial market
South Korea's finance chief Yoo Il-ho called for close monitoring of financial markets.
This comes as the nation faces many uncertainties both home and abroad.
Kim Min-ji shares with us the finance minister's remarks.
South Korea's finance minister has called for close monitoring of local financial markets... following North Korea's latest provocation.
Speaking at a meeting with top finance officials,... Minister Yoo Il-ho said Pyongyang's nuclear test last week,... coupled with both internal and external uncertainties,... including a possible U.S. rate hike,... could increase market volatility.
Minister Yoo urged the utmost vigilance and called on the officials to draw up contingency plans that can be implemented if certain trends are detected.
The minister also stressed the importance of putting to work at least 70 percent of the government's supplementary budget before Korea's Thanksgiving holiday,... or Chuseok,... which falls on Thursday.
In June,... the government announced an extra budget worth roughly 10 billion U.S. dollars,... to provide a cushion to the economy during the government's ongoing push for corporate restructuring,... as well as to boost job creation.
Regarding the logistics chaos triggered by Hanjin Shipping's slide into court-led restructuring,... Minister Yoo called for careful management so that the crisis does not take a toll on the local economy.
Korea's oceans and fisheries ministry says... more than 50 ships... belonging to Hanjin... are facing operational disruptions,... with the majority standing by in the high seas.
Minister Yoo called for inter-agency cooperation to keep close tabs on the situation on a daily basis,... and asked that necessary measures be drawn up.
Although the minister noted the concerns over the possible negative impact,... he said Hanjin's restructuring must go ahead as planned to bolster the competitiveness of the shipping industry.
Kim Min-ji, Arirang News.
Title: Korea posts deficit of over US$ 1 bil. in transport industry
Korea saw its biggest trade deficit on record in the first half of the year... in transport-related activities.
Outgoing payments for transport of people and goods by air and sea... outpaced incoming... by over a billion dollars.
Oh Jung-hee updates us on the ripples caused by the slumping shipping industry.
Korea's transport sector posted a deficit of over one billion U.S. dollars in the first seven months of the year,... due to sluggish global demand and falling exports.
Bank of Korea data released on Monday shows the sector's income from January to the end of July was 15 billion U.S. dollars,... while outgoings were over 16 billion dollars.
This marks the first time the sector has posted a deficit in a half-year period since related records were first compiled in 2006.
By sub-sector,... the country's shipping industry saw the largest deficit of 894 million dollars,... with its cargo transport income tumbling over 28 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to the Korea Customs Service on Monday, Korea's exports for the first ten days of September declined three-point-six percent.
In August, Korea's exports rebounded after falling for 19 straight months.
The disappointing September figures come as cargo volumes and fares decreased as sluggish economic growth in China, Europe, and Japan eroded overseas demand.
Experts say the deficit and sluggish exports may continue for a while,... considering Korea's biggest shipping firm Hanjin Shipping is in dire financial straits after filing for court receivership two weeks ago.
Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News.
Title: Hillary Clinton's health concerns rise as variable in U.S. Presidential election
Over on the U.S. political arena,… as one of the two runners of the November presidential election seems to have been diagnosed with pneumonia.
At a ceremony event held in New York, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton was seen shaky, after what her campaign said was a case of overheating and dehydration.
Shin Se-min reports.
Questions over the health of U.S. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton are arising again after the former Secretary of State seemed to be collapsing during a 9/11 memorial service in New York on Sunday.
A video posted on social media showed Clinton leaving the memorial event early from ground zero,… then stumbling and losing her balance before aides around her helped her get into a vehicle.
A spokesperson for Clinton's campaign said she was 'overheated' and 'dehydrated' during the ceremony.
She was reportedly taken to her daughter Chelsea's apartment, leaving the place hours after the incident, and stating she felt great while waving at reporters and the public.
"It's a beautiful day in New York."
On the same day, Clinton's doctor released a statement, saying she has been diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday,… quote, 'Hillary was put on antibiotics, and was advised to rest and modify her schedule.'
Although her doctor said she is recovering well, this is not the first health scare that the 68-year-old democratic nominee has experienced.
During a Labor day campaign rally in Cleveland, Ohio, she had a massive coughing fit.
Sunday's incident has served to fuel for more attacks from her republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
"She will not be a good President. She doesn't have the strength,… she doesn't have the stamina."
With the first presidential debate scheduled to take place on later this month and as early voters begin heading to the polls,… Clinton's health concerns seem to be influencing strategies from both campaigns in an already tight race.

Title: KOREA'S WORLD HERITAGE
KOREA'S WORLD HERITAGE
Title: UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Korea: Gochang, Hwasun, and Ganghwa Dolmen sites
Dolmens....are prehistoric stone graves built thousands of years ago during the Neolithic and Bronze Ages. More than half of the Dolmens remaining in the world are found on the Korean Peninsula.
And that's what Gochang, Hwasun and Ganghwa Dolmen sites represent. Our Lee Minyoung shows us the prehistoric dolmens - Korea's UNESCO World Heritage.
These monumental rocks are here not by accident nor by coincidence. They date back to the Neolithic or New Stone Age and the Bronze Age,... and they are prehistoric tombs called dolmens, built with large stones known as megaliths.
Dolmen in Korean is known as 'goin-dol' which means 'supported stone'.
And more than half of remaining dolmens around the world are densely concentrated in the Korean peninsula.
For that reason and for the value they hold, three major dolmen grounds in Korea have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2000, namely the Gochang, Hwasun, and Ganghwa dolmen sites.
"The three dolmen sites in Korea have an outstanding archeological value. They have been drawing a lot of attention from archaeologists worldwide because nowhere in the world dolmens can be found in such great density and variety."
Among the three, Gochan is home to about 4-hundred-50 dolmens, concentrated within a 1-point-8 kilometer radius.
Besides the sheer number of dolmens clustered in Gochan, the area is also characterized by uniquely-shaped dolmens, which have been classified as 'hybrid' types.
"Dolmens in Korea can be categorized broadly into three different types --- the table type, the go-table type and the stone-covered type. Here in Gochang, you can take a look at all three of them,...in addition to some dolmens that feature mixed elements of the three."
This dolmen is named after its table-like shape.
The grave is built with 4 to 6 stone stabs standing straight on the ground forming a stone chamber, and usually topped with a large capstone.
These dolmens, on the other hand, are shaped like a go-table or checkerboard type,...featuring a large covering stone on top of several footstones. The main characteristic of this type of dolmen is that the body is buried underground.
The most common type of dolmen, however, is the stone-covered type, which as the name depicts, is a grave covered with a capstone.
But besides these three, other forms of dolmen have been found in Gochang, which reflect the interaction and coexistence among various cultures.
"As you can see, a table-type dolmen is supposed to have a flat flagstone on top,...but instead, this hybrid dolmen features a large covering stone instead. This clearly shows that tribes with different funerary cultures coexisted together."
The dolmens in Gochang also vary in size.
"This is the largest Dolmen in the world. This enormous prehistoric tomb weighs nearly 3-hundred tons and stands five meters high. It remains a mystery how people were able to build a tomb of this size over 3 thousand years ago."
Experts assume that people of that time cut stones by making a hole on a large rock and placing a wooden stick in the crevice.
Continuously pouring water on the hole would have swollen up the wooden stick, eventually splitting up the rock.
"More than 3-thousand years have passed, but these dolmens are still standing to this day. The only way to explain this is that our ancestors had surprisingly advanced construction skills."
These monumental prehistoric relics contain the key to understanding how life was during the Bronze Age.
Dolmens are a world cultural heritage and hold a universal value that needs to be protected for not only all mankind,...but also for the future generations to come.

Title: North Korea suffers from flood damage
While the North Korean regime was conducting its fifth nuclear test it was also recovering from some of the worst flooding experienced in the region in decades. I'm joined in the studio by Barry Welsh. The rogue state's official news agency says tens of thousands of households have been affected. Barry, do we know what's happening on the ground?
Connyoung Pyongyang state media confirmed earlier today that severe flooding had killed more than 60 people and that 25 others are still missing in the Northern Hamgyong Province. The media there was urging soldiers and civilians alike to join in rescue operations. Footage shown over the weekend revealed the damage to be extensive:
"Tens of thousands of houses and public buildings collapsed and railways, roads and other traffic networks and power supply system, factories, company buildings and farmland were destroyed or were inundated. The disaster left the people in the northern part of North Hamgyong Province, who had been pushing forward the 200-day campaign, homeless and suffering from great hardships,"
The state's official news agency said the Tumen river along the border with China had flooded due to heavy downpours. Reportedly 17,180 houses were damaged or destroyed and around 44,000 North Koreans have been left homeless.
The red cross society has sent relief teams to the affected regions. North Korea is particularly susceptible to flooding due to the widespread deforestation that has taken place there over the years.
Title: Muslims mark start of Eid al-Adha
As Korea prepares to start celebrating Chuseok, millions of Muslims across the world are today starting their own celebrations. Eid al-Adha or the "sacrifice feast" is the second and holiest of the two major Muslim holidays celebrated worldwide. The other being Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Just as Koreans travel to their hometowns for Chuseok millions of Muslims will be making similar journeys to their home towns to celebrate with their families.
In the Bangladesh capital of Dhaka for example thousands of people abandoned the city to make the pilgrimage to their hometowns, packing every conceivable means of transportation possible to make the journey.
Indonesian Muslims in Jakarta started the day by offering prayers and slaughtering a variety animals for festival feasts. Sheep, cows, goats, lambs and camels are killed and shared with families, friends and even given to the local poor.
Barry what does the so-called "sacrifice feast" celebrate?
It commemorates the Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail on God's command.
Part of the celebrations in Mecca in Saudi Arabia is called "The Stoning of the Devil." What is that?
Muslims go to Mecca in Saudi to throw stones at walls to symbolize their rejection of the devil.
Title: Warm afternoon highs under partly sunny skies
Chuseok, or Korean Thanksgiving holidays, kicks off later this week. Last year, we were able to wish upon the super moon on Chuseok, which was the largest moon of the year... I wonder if we can do the same this year. Jee-hyun should be able to answer that for us so,... let's go right over to Jee-hyun at the weather center Jee-hyun
Can we wish upon the biggest full moon of the year on this Chuseok as well?
Sadly Conn-young we'll have to wait until November to see the super moon.
But we'll still be able to make a wish on a fairly round moon. This Chuseok, the full moon will start to rise at 5:44 pm in Seoul and most regions will be able to see it through partly cloudy skies.
In the meantime, those in Jeju Island might not be able to see the clear moon due to lots of cloud coverage and rain. But don't be too disappointed because the moon that rises on Saturday is forecast to be rounder and brighter.. and the skies will be brighter across the nation too.
Many of you will start to head home as early as tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow's conditions are a repeat of today's conditions. Sudden rain can be expected at times in the inland regions and warm afternoon highs will remain in the western parts of the country so let's take a closer look.
Seoul, Daegu and Busan will start out at 20 degrees Celsius while Jeju Island will have a low of 22 degrees.
For the highs,
Seoul and Daejeon will see highs of 29 degrees Celsius while Gwangju will have a high of 30 degrees Celsius.
That's Korea for you and here's look at the weather conditions around the world.
